Other facts (about me and my artistic work):

Sami Mustafa was born in Kosovo/Serbia, on the 22nd of August 1984. He is a young filmmaker from the Roma community of Plemetina village. His documentary filmmaking experience began in 2003 with a Balkan Sunflowers (NGO) project which included Plemetina Roma youth. A year later, he began working with Koperativa and Quawava (Production Companies). The experience of working on these productions increased his motivation and interest in documentary filmmaking. Since then, he has continued producing his own documentaries. One of them, "Road to Home", was screened at Cannes Film Festival in 2007 and was the only film representing Kosovo. In 2007, Sami founded Romawood, a production house focusing on Roma issues. Later in the same year, he initiated the "Jekh Kham Jekh Sel" project: the one which has made the most indelible impact on his life and work. This project invited eleven Roma boys and girls from Plemetina to learn about documentary filmmaking and spread their message to the world. Sami is currently producer and manager of Romawood Productions and continues his voluntary involvement with Balkan Sunflowers.
